# Senior Manager, Test Process Engineering

## Position Summary

Micron is seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager, Test Process Engineering to lead the Component Test Process Engineering team. This position is responsible for driving manufacturing excellence through the development, optimization, standardization, AI proficiency or AI‑enabled ways of working where applicable, and deployment of semiconductor test processes across global test operations.

The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers focused on test process control, yield improvement, quality enhancement, new product introduction (NPI), manufacturing readiness, equipment and process qualifications, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires close collaboration with Product Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Equipment Engineering, Industrial Engineering, R&D, and global site teams to achieve world-class operational performance as well as leveraging AI to accomplish KPI's.

## Key Responsibilities

### Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of Test Process Engineers.
  • Establish team goals, development plans, and performance objectives aligned with business priorities.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Build technical capability within the organization through coaching, training, and succession planning.
  • Lead cross-functional and global initiatives involving multiple manufacturing sites.

### Test Process Engineering

  • Own and drive test process development, optimization, validation, and deployment for Component Test manufacturing operations.
  • Define and maintain process standards, best practices, and operational controls.
  • Lead process qualification activities using structured methodologies such as DOE, risk assessment, and statistical analysis.
  • Ensure robust process controls are established and sustained across manufacturing operations.
  • Drive process capability improvements to support quality, output, cost, and cycle-time objectives.

### Yield & Quality Improvement

  • Champion yield improvement initiatives through systematic root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Lead containment, disposition, and resolution activities for quality excursions and customer-impacting issues.
  • Utilize statistical tools and data analytics to identify process variation and drive corrective actions.
  • Partner with Product Engineering and Quality teams to improve outgoing quality and reliability performance.
  • Drive implementation of preventive measures to eliminate recurring manufacturing issues.

### New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Lead manufacturing process readiness activities for new product introductions.
  • Ensure successful transfer from product development into high-volume manufacturing.
  • Partner with Product Engineering and Operations teams to establish manufacturing specifications and process controls.
  • Coordinate qualification activities and manufacturing risk assessments during NPI execution.

### Manufacturing Excellence

  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Lead productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction programs.
  • Establish KPIs and performance dashboards to monitor manufacturing health.
  • Drive factory automation and digital transformation initiatives where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with Micron business processes, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational procedures.

### Equipment & Technology Development

  • Partner with Equipment Engineering teams on qualification, upgrades, and process capability improvements.
  • Support recipe management, process standardization, and technology proliferation across sites.
  • Evaluate and implement innovative manufacturing solutions to improve productivity and quality.
  • Lead technical evaluations and mitigation plans for equipment-related process issues.

## Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 15+ years of semiconductor manufacturing, product engineering, test engineering, or process engineering experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of people management experience leading engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor assembly and test manufacturing processes.
  • Proven experience driving yield, quality, productivity, and cost improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills utilizing data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment.

## Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Experience in Component Test, Memory Test, Burn-In, System Level Test, or semiconductor backend manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of test equipment platforms, process qualifications, and manufacturing automation.
  • Experience with reliability methodologies, failure analysis, and quality systems.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience leading global manufacturing projects across multiple sites.
