Our mission is to provide a platform for agricultural research that advances farming efficiency, productivity, and profitability while promoting environmental stewardship and providing consumers with safe, affordable products.
The station conducts applied field research on a diverse range of horticultural crops, including sweet potatoes, melons, tomatoes, peppers, squash, and new and emerging specialty crops.
The ideal candidate will have experience in general horticultural crop production, farm equipment operation, and the ability to work effectively in a hands-on agricultural research environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Perform routine agricultural and grounds maintenance activities.
• Assist with the layout and preparation of research plots.
• Participate in planting, cultivation, crop maintenance, spray applications, and harvesting activities.
• Operate, maintain, and perform routine servicing of farm equipment and machinery.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and daily operations of the station.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Recruitment Range: $31,200 - $49,000
- General knowledge of agricultural practices.
- Ability to collect and record data accurately
- Ability to operate tractors and associated farm equipment safely and effectively.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous manual duties both inside and outside under adverse weather conditions and independently lift 50 lbs. routinely.
- Valid driver’s license
Obtain within twelve months of employment the following:
- Forklift Driver Certificate to be issued by Research Division
- Public Pesticide Applicator License

Minimum Education and Experience
