Description
The Master Black Belt is an enterprise leadership role responsible for driving Eaton's transactional excellence strategy across key enterprise value streams, including Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Hire-to-Retire, Idea-to-Realization, and Plan-to-Perform.
This leader will establish the vision, governance, and operating model for enterprise process excellence while leading a team of Process Excellence Leaders focused on delivering measurable business outcomes. Success in this role requires a combination of executive influence, deep Lean Six Sigma expertise, transformation leadership, and the ability to drive sustainable results across complex global organizations.
Essential Responsibilities:
Enterprise Leadership & Governance
- Own the enterprise transactional excellence strategy, operating model, priorities, and multi-year roadmap across all assigned value streams.
- Serve as a key member of the EBS leadership team, ensuring transactional excellence is integrated into enterprise strategy, governance, and business priorities.
- Partner with Executive Leadership Team members, Global Process Owners, and senior functional leaders to improve end-to-end process performance and drive enterprise-wide adoption of best practices.
- Establish governance processes that translate enterprise priorities into a balanced portfolio of improvement initiatives with clear sponsorship, accountability, decision rights, and value tracking.
- Provide executive leaders with clear, data-driven insights into process performance, transformation progress, risks, and value realization.
Team Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Process Excellence Leaders supporting enterprise value streams.
- Drive talent strategy, succession planning, performance management, resource allocation, and employee engagement across the team.
- Foster a culture of analytical rigor, accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
- Establish enterprise standards and quality expectations for Lean Six Sigma, process mining, process design, change management, AI-enabled work, and benefits realization.
- Build and sustain an enterprise process excellence capability through training, certification, mentoring, and communities of practice.
Enterprise Process Improvement & Value Realization
- Lead the enterprise transactional improvement portfolio from opportunity identification through implementation, control, and sustained value delivery.
- Ensure each value stream maintains current-state baselines, target-state designs, performance metrics, and prioritized improvement roadmaps aligned to business objectives.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, DMADV/DFSS, process redesign, statistical analysis, and change management methodologies to deliver measurable business improvements.
- Drive improvements in productivity, cycle time, quality, customer experience, working capital, cost, compliance, and risk management.
- Partner with Finance and business leaders to validate benefits, establish financial baselines, and ensure sustainable value realization.
- Provide direct leadership for high-impact, enterprise-wide transformation initiatives requiring executive alignment and cross-functional coordination.
Enterprise Standards & Digital Transformation
- Define and implement enterprise standards for transactional processes, controls, governance, and performance management.
- Promote simplification and standardization before automation, leveraging process mining, task mining, AI, analytics, and automation where appropriate.
- Partner with Process Intelligence, Data & AI, Solution Architecture, digital platform teams, and functional leaders to identify and resolve process, technology, data, and policy-related issues.
- Develop enterprise performance dashboards and process transparency through scorecards, control towers, and governance reviews.
- Scale proven solutions and best practices across functions, businesses, regions, and acquisitions.
Stakeholder Leadership & Change Management
- Build alignment across businesses and functions to secure sponsorship, resources, and commitment for enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Influence senior leaders without formal authority through business acumen, data-driven decision making, and executive communication.
- Lead organizational change efforts to drive adoption, sustainability, and long-term business impact.
- Maintain awareness of emerging industry trends and leading practices in process excellence, operational transformation, and digital enablement.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $182000 - $266000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. ## Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in process excellence, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and/or business transformation.
- Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience leading enterprise-scale transformation programs and teams.
- Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification.
- Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or other advanced degree.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives with measurable business outcomes.
- Experience influencing and partnering with senior executives, Global Process Owners, and enterprise stakeholders.
- Deep expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including DMAIC and DMADV/DFSS.
- Proven track record delivering large-scale transactional transformation across corporate and shared services functions.
- Strong financial acumen, including opportunity sizing, benefits validation, portfolio management, and executive performance reporting.
- Experience with process mining, automation, AI, advanced analytics, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Working knowledge of enterprise ERP platforms and end-to-end transactional processes.
- Experience building and leading geographically dispersed teams with enterprise-wide responsibility.
- Demonstrated success establishing enterprise operating models, governance frameworks, and process standards across multiple functions and regions.
- Exceptional executive presence, communication skills, and ability to influence senior leaders and stakeholders at all levels.
