Overview
This role involves characterizing MMICs and RFICs in the micro- and millimeter wave range (>100 GHz). You'll perform on-wafer measurements using wafer probers, set up and optimize RF measuring stations, and conduct S-parameter, power and linearity measurements. The position requires applying calibration and de-embedding procedures, analyzing measurement results, and automating measurement sequences using Python or MATLAB. You'll work in a high-end RF laboratory environment with significant hands-on laboratory work, collaborating with design and test teams.
Description
Project description:
--------------------
Are you enthusiastic about technology? We are too! To strengthen our team of experts at our customer in the radio and communications industry, we are looking for a Development Engineer (m/f/x) MMIC Characterization in a permanent position at K-tronik. We look forward to getting to know you personally - and to working together with passion and team spirit on exciting projects and future-oriented technologies.
Tasks:
------
- Characterization of MMICs and RFICs in the micro- and millimeter wave range (>100 GHz) - Carrying out on-wafer measurements using wafer probers (e.g. MPI) - Setup, operation and optimization of RF measuring stations (VNA incl. extender, probe stations, load-pull / noise if necessary) - Carrying out and evaluating S-parameter, power and linearity measurements (e.g. IP3, P1dB) - Application of calibration and de-embedding procedures (TRL, SOLT, LRM) - Analysis and interpretation of measurement results and derivation of design feedback - Automation of measurement sequences and data evaluation (Python, MATLAB) - Support with silicon bring-up and validation of new designs - Coordination with internal teams (design, test) and external partners if necessary
Skills:
-------
- Degree in electrical engineering, RF technology, microelectronics or physics or comparable training - Several years of experience (approx. 5-8 years) in the characterization of MMICs / RFICs - Sound knowledge of RF and millimeter wave measurement technology (>100 GHz) - Practical experience with wafer probers and on-wafer measurements - Confident handling of VNA measurements incl. extenders - Experience with calibration and de-embedding techniques - Experience in measurement automation (Python and/or MATLAB) - Independent, structured way of working Requirements (Nice-to-Have) - Experience with load-pull, noise measurements or power amplifier characterization - Knowledge of III-V technologies (GaAs, GaN, InP) - Experience in dealing with test houses General conditions - Work in a high-end RF laboratory environment with a focus on MMIC characterization - High proportion of practical laboratory work (not just an office job) - Collaboration in an experienced development environment - Quick familiarization required
