Overview
As a PRN Pharmacy Technician, you'll assist pharmacists in procuring, distributing, documenting, and compounding drugs, solutions, and equipment to meet patient and staff needs. You'll be familiar with dosages for various patient populations, maintain adequate stock levels, and work according to standard procedures and regulations. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, current registration as a Pharmacy Technician, and ability to work on an as-needed basis. Hospital pharmacy experience and certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities
Performs duties to assist the pharmacist in the procurement, distribution, documentation, and compounding related to drugs, solutions, and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for being familiar with dosages and volumes of medications and solutions associated with infant, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients as it relates to medication compounding and dispensing. Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Responsible as assigned for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions including but not limited to the preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas. Maintains adequate stock levels in assigned areas.Qualifications
Education- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- No experience required
- Hospital pharmacy experience Preferred
- IV admixture experience Preferred
- IV chemotherapy preparation experience Preferred
- PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern Upon Hire Required
- PTCB Certification Preferred
