Job Overview

Experienced Cryogenic Pump Assembly Engineer with expertise in the assembly, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of cryogenic pumps used in industrial gas, LNG, air separation, and cryogenic process applications. Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, maintaining critical assembly tolerances, performing alignment and quality checks, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Focused on delivering reliable, high-performance equipment through adherence to manufacturing procedures, continuous improvement, and effective coordination with production, quality, and engineering teams,

Responsibilities

  • Plan, supervise, and execute assembly activities for cryogenic pumps in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Coordinates and manages all work order activities, resources, and information to achieve their completion of sub and top level per their due date.
  • Work closely with all shop supervisors to maximize speedy through put of work orders.
  • Provide feedback to the expeditors and planners as dates are pulled in or pushed out.
  • Work with the quality and receiving teams as needed to monitor parts received date and receiving quality status.
  • Attend all appropriate meetings that require your input
  • Develop and maintain daily execution logs to track agreed start/completions dates.
  • Provide daily updates to the management teams.
  • Elevate all issues that will/is affecting speedy through put.
  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants
  • Work in concerts with principals, ACD-LLC, USA and maintain a high level of knowledge on Turbo expanders and pumps to support customer needs.
  • Utilize Man-Fact as a resource for reports, data collection and data recaps
  • Investigate and address customer site complaints related to cryogenic pumps, perform site visits as required, identify root causes of issues, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and coordinate with customers, service teams, quality, and engineering departments to ensure timely resolution.
  • Review engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOM), assembly procedures, and technical documents prior to assembly.
  • Ensure correct assembly of pump components, including impellers, shafts, bearings, seals, couplings, and associated equipment.
  • Verify critical dimensions, tolerances, clearances, and alignment requirements during assembly.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Stores, and Engineering departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of assemblies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and resolve assembly-related issues, non-conformities, and technical problems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety procedures, quality systems, and company policies.
  • Monitor assembly productivity, manpower utilization, and adherence to project schedules.
  • Participate in hydrostatic testing, mechanical run testing, performance testing, and customer inspections as required.
  • Ensure proper handling, preservation, cleanliness, and protection of cryogenic pump components throughout the assembly process.
  • Train and guide technicians, fitters, and assembly personnel on assembly methods and quality requirements.
  • Maintain assembly records, inspection reports, deviation reports, and production documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, productivity, safety, and cost reduction.
  • Ensure all tools, measuring instruments, and assembly fixtures are calibrated and used correctly.
  • Coordinate with customers, inspectors, and third-party agencies during required inspections and audits.

 

Authorities:

 

  • Allocate assembly work and assign manpower within the assembly area.
  • Stop assembly activities if safety, quality, or technical requirements are not being met.
  • Reject or hold non-conforming components pending review by Quality Assurance or Engineering.
  • Request corrective actions for assembly, quality, or process-related issues.
  • Approve stage-wise assembly completion as per established procedures.
  • Recommend improvements to assembly methods, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions.
  • Escalate technical deviations and seek engineering disposition when required.
  • Authorize rework activities in accordance with approved procedures and quality requirements.
  • Verify and approve assembly checklists, inspection records, and production documentation within the assigned scope of responsibility.
  • Coordinate and communicate directly with internal departments regarding assembly schedules, material shortages, and technical concerns.

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

 

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

 

Work Environment: 

 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

 

Physical Demands:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Qualifications

  • BE in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 or more years of experience in a related field (preferably as a Production Coordinator or similar role)
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
  • Research and analytical skills.
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
  • Communication skills, including the ability to explain clearly, listen to the feedback of clients – and relay this to colleagues.
  • The ability to negotiate with and influence others.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
  • Competency in MS applications (incl’ Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
