About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Data Engineer to help build and optimize our modern data platform. This is an internal engineering role focused on enabling self-service data access for our engineering teams by developing scalable SQL-based data pipelines and leveraging Databricks to simplify access to enterprise data. Working closely with our DevOps Engineer, you'll help create the infrastructure and ecosystem that allows citizen engineers to quickly and securely access standardized datasets without requiring deep technical expertise. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving data engineering challenges, building scalable data solutions, and improving how organizations consume and leverage data.
What you’ll do

Design, develop, and maintain scalable SQL-based data pipelines using Databricks.

Build and optimize data pipelines that enable reliable, secure, and efficient access to enterprise data.

Develop reusable data assets and standardized datasets that simplify data consumption for citizen engineers.

Collaborate closely with the DevOps Engineer to build and enhance the cloud infrastructure supporting data platforms and application deployments.

Integrate and optimize existing Microsoft SQL Server databases and enterprise data sources within the Databricks environment.

Improve data accessibility while maintaining data quality, governance, and security standards.

Optimize SQL queries and data processing workflows to maximize performance and scalability.

Support the automation of data ingestion, transformation, and deployment processes.

Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and recommend continuous improvements to platform performance and reliability.

Document data architecture, pipeline designs, and engineering best practices.
What You Bring

3–5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data engineering role.

Strong expertise in Databricks.

Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.

Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.

Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and relational databases.

Strong understanding of data modeling and data architecture principles.

Experience integrating multiple enterprise data sources.

Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.

Experience with Git-based development workflows.

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

Self-starter who can work independently and take ownership of deliverables.

Availability to work 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern Time (EST).
