Market Leader in Aluminum Extrusion is seeking a Press Operator - 2nd shift (M-F; 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.) Weekend work required when necessary.
Job Requirements include:
- Performs setup of aluminum extrusion press.
- Changes dies based upon written specifications.
- Uses overhead crane to remove hot die from heated oven.
- Places die in press tool holder, ensuring that tooling is correct length.
- Operates press to pre-set standards.
- Enters die number; checks gauges to ensure automated operating system is properly controlling temperature and extrusion process.
- Performs quality checks (surface and condition); cuts samples (after every 7th billet) to check tolerances.
- Lubricates equipment; performs light preventative maintenance. Removes scraps of metal from press with chisel. Advises Supervisor or Maintenance when press needs service.
- Maintains clean and orderly workplace.
- Observes safety rules and practices; reports any unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor.
- Must be able to lift 40lbs.
- Must have flexible schedule; weekend work is required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to temperature extremes (heat/cold), noise, dust in a manufacturing environment.
- Must wear appropriate PPE at all times (e.g., safety glasses, ear protection, steel-toes shoes, long pants).
