Description
In accordance with the policies, procedures, and standards of Filinvest Hospitality, Inc. and Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay, and under the direct supervision of the Head Concierge, the Boat Captain is responsible for ensuring the overall efficiency, safety, and operation of the speedboat service, including the supervision of Boat Crew and Boat Attendants.
Scope and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve employee satisfaction index goals.
- Create and maintain a positive work environment.
- Develop employees to maximize potential and prepare them for future growth opportunities through counseling and development programs.
- Orient and train qualified employees.
- Conduct regular employee meetings and counseling sessions.
- Monitor, communicate, and evaluate employee performance standards on a timely basis.
- Monitor the level of customer satisfaction within the Concierge section.
- Analyze customer feedback regarding service quality and operational efficiency.
- Practice flexibility and creativity in handling special guest requests and concerns.
- Maximize guest satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Ensure safe and efficient loading and unloading of guests, luggage, and personal belongings.
- Coordinate closely with airport representatives regarding guest arrivals.
- Coordinate with Guest Relations Officers in welcoming arriving guests.
- Ensure safe guest handling and transfer during speedboat operations.
- Oversee overall speedboat operations.
- Conduct mandatory safety briefings before departure.
- Serve as the person primarily responsible for vessel safety, navigation, seaworthiness, cleanliness, and passenger welfare.
- Ensure all boat safety equipment is operational and available.
- Prepare life jackets, scented cold towels, bottled water, and umbrellas before every shift.
- Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations and company standards.
- Maintain knowledge of island attractions, destinations, and local information.
- Assist guests with inquiries related to island activities and services.
- Maintain updated flight schedule information and communicate changes promptly to guests.
- Conduct regular checks of safety equipment.
- Ensure vessel cleanliness at the end of each day.
- Supervise the personal grooming and appearance of Boat Attendants and Crew.
- Ensure proper filing and maintenance of Boat Captain log sheets.
- Ensure proper scheduling and dispatch of resort shuttle and boat services based on flight arrivals, departures, and operational requirements.
- Coordinate closely with the Head Concierge and Concierge Supervisor.
- Ensure proper and regular maintenance of the speedboat.
Qualifications:
- College level or any 4 year degree course
- At least 5 years relevant experience
- Relevant experience in a hotel setting is an advantage
- Knowledge in speedboat maintenance
- Able to speak and converse in English
- Preferably with boat captain 1 or 2 license
