Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Access Control Patrol in Oakland, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. You will support access control activities, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity and care. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities at utility-related locations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to assigned locations, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor, contractor, and/or vehicle activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and activity logs, communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership, and follow applicable post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
