Key Responsibilities

Logistics & Transportation

• Manage the movement of tools, equipment, materials, and inventory between service centers and customer locations.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics operations, including transportation planning and inventory management.
• Optimize logistics processes to reduce inventory carrying costs and transportation expenses.
• Execute reverse logistics activities for returning assets and inventory to headquarters or suppliers.
• Ensure accurate shipment quantities, documentation, and delivery schedules.
• Establish and maintain alternative sources for machining, modification services, and consumable inventory.

Inventory Management & Control

• Maintain secure, organized, and accurate inventory records.
• Conduct cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies with inventory systems.
• Manage raw materials, subassemblies, finished goods, tools, and service assets.
• Analyze inventory levels and coordinate with operational, production, and sales requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and utilization.

Import / Export & Customs Compliance

• Administer international movement of goods in compliance with local, Mexican, U.S., and international customs regulations.
• Prepare, review, approve, and maintain import/export documentation, including:
  • Customs declarations
  • Commercial invoices
  • Packing lists
  • Purchase Orders (POs)
  • Shipper’s Letter of Instruction (SLI)
  • Shipper’s Export Declarations (SED)
  • Bills of Lading (BOL)
  • Air Waybills (AWB)
  • Import Certificates (IC)
• Ensure shipment values, country of origin information, and supporting documentation are accurate and compliant.
• Serve as the primary liaison between customs authorities, freight forwarders, customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable trade, import, export, and customs regulations.

Purchasing & Procurement

• Issue and track intercompany purchase orders.
• Process procurement requests and purchase requisitions.
• Source materials, products, and services while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery.
• Manage vendor communications and resolve procurement-related issues.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
• Identify and implement procurement process improvements.  

Relationships & Communication

• Work closely with Service Center leadership, Scheduling, Engineering, Field Technicians, Shop Technicians, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Logistics, Shipping/Receiving, and Project Managers.
• Collaborate with international customers, suppliers, subsidiaries, regulatory agencies, and customs authorities.

Customer Focus

• Ensure equipment and materials are available on time and in excellent condition.
• Maintain a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and service delivery.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Technical, Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
• High School Diploma with equivalent relevant experience required.

Experience

• Valid Mexican Customs Broker License (Patente Aduanal) required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or planning.
• Minimum 5 years of inventory management experience.
• Minimum 5 years of international shipping and import/export coordination experience preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the pipeline, oil & gas, industrial services, or related industries preferred.
• Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Theory of Constraints preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of logistics, inventory control, procurement, and international trade compliance.
• Advanced problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a demanding environment.
• Proficiency with ERP and database systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced English and Spanish language skills both written and verbal required. Excellent command of the English language, with the ability to prepare detailed documentation, communicate effectively in meetings, and clearly convey information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX, reporting tools).

Additional Required Certification

• Demonstrated expertise in Mexican customs regulations, import/export procedures, tariff classifications, customs valuation, trade compliance, and interactions with Mexican customs authorities (ANAM/SAT).
• Ability to function as the company’s customs compliance subject matter expert and support cross-border trade operations throughout Mexico.
