DriveNets has raised $587 million in three funding rounds which enable us to dream big and bring on the most talented people.The RoleWe are establishing a new backend group that will take full ownership of a core application area.We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer who will lead the backend effort end-to-end — from initial architecture and technology choices, through implementation and scaling, and into long-term ownership and evolution.This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will design, build, and own production systems, work closely with multiple teams, influence product direction, and set the technical bar for the group.We embrace an agile mindset – you should be comfortable with context switching, handling multiple priorities, and adapting quickly to changing requirements. ResponsibilitiesTake full ownership of the backend architecture for a major application areaDesign and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systemsLead technical design and decision-making, including technology and architecture choicesWork closely with product, frontend, platform, and other backend teamsParticipate in product vision discussions, brainstorming, and planning sessionsTranslate product requirements into robust technical solutionsWrite high-quality, production-grade codeDrive debugging and root-cause analysis of complex production issuesEnsure best practices in performance, reliability, security, and observabilityMentor and technically guide other backend engineers as the group grows     9+ years of backend development experience2+ years of hands-on NodeJs OR Python OR GO experience — or strong motivation to learn and use it in production- big advantage.Experience with distributed, high-scale systems.Proven experience designing and building high-scale, production systemsDeep understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, and APIsStrong problem-solving and debugging skills, including complex system behavior and production troubleshooting at scaleExperience working with databases (relational and/or NoSQL), including schema design and performance considerationsSolid knowledge of modern backend technologies and frameworksExperience collaborating across teams in a large or multi-team environmentStrong communication skills and the ability to lead through influence Nice to HaveFamiliarity with containerization tools (Docker/Kubernetes)Exposure to caching systems (e.g., Redis) or event-driven architecturesPrior experience leading a technical area or subsystemExperience with Cursor Education And/or Relevant ExperienceBSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent hands-on experience in software developmentIf your experience is close but doesn’t fulfill all requirements, please apply.
