Description
Security Officer – High-Rise Condominium/Hotel
SMI Security is seeking an experienced Security Officer to join our team at a high-rise condominium/hotel property located in the Bal Harbour area.
This is an overnight security position requiring a professional, dependable, and customer-service-oriented security officer who is comfortable working closely with the property’s Loss Prevention Team and management personnel.
Position Details:
- Location: Bal Harbour Area.
- Position: Security Officer.
- Shift: Overnight, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week.
- Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour.
- Employment Type: Full-Time.
- Department/Environment: High-Rise Condominium/Hotel.
- Primary Focus: Security, loss prevention, access control, resident/guest safety, and property protection.
Position Responsibilities:
The Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, guests, employees, and property personnel.
Responsibilities may include:
- Conducting regular security patrols throughout the property and designated areas.
- Monitoring entrances, exits, common areas, parking areas, and other assigned locations.
- Working closely with the property’s Loss Prevention Team to identify and report security concerns, suspicious activity, safety hazards, and potential losses.
- Maintaining a visible and professional security presence throughout the assigned shift.
- Monitoring and responding appropriately to alarms, incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations.
- Enforcing property security policies and procedures in a professional and respectful manner.
- Assisting residents, guests, employees, and visitors with security-related questions or concerns.
- Completing detailed and accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors, management, Loss Prevention, law enforcement, emergency personnel, and property staff when necessary.
- Following all SMI Security policies, post orders, client requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding residents, guests, employees, incidents, and property operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have:
- Prior professional security experience, preferably in a high-rise condominium, hotel, residential, hospitality, or Loss Prevention environment.
- Previous Loss Prevention experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong observation and situational-awareness skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional appearance and customer-service skills.
- The ability to remain calm and professional when handling difficult or emergency situations.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- The ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a security and Loss Prevention team.
- A valid Florida security license and any other credentials required for the position.
Physical and Essential Job Requirements:
This position requires the officer to perform essential security functions that may include standing and walking for extended periods, conducting patrols, responding to incidents, and remaining alert throughout the overnight shift.
