Join Our Team — Make an Impact in Your Community
Office Administrator /Medical Biller
Full-Time | In-Person | Nonprofit Mental Health Organization
Kohan International Foundation is seeking a dedicated, organized, and compassionate Medical Biller / Office Administrator to join our team.
We are a nonprofit behavioral health organization committed to providing mental health services to underserved individuals, families, children, and communities that have historically had limited access to quality care.
We are not simply looking for someone to fill an administrative position. We are looking for a long-term team member who believes in our mission and understands that the work performed in this role directly impacts the people we serve.
Every insurance verification completed, claim followed up on, phone call answered, and patient assisted can help remove a barrier to care. The person in this position plays an important role in helping people access treatment, remain connected to services, and find support and hope when they need it most.
Who We Are Looking For
We want someone who is passionate about serving underserved communities and excited to be part of a mission-driven organization.
The ideal candidate is a team player who understands that administrative and billing work is an essential part of patient care. You will often be one of the first points of contact for individuals seeking mental health services, so compassion, patience, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help others are extremely important.
We are looking for someone who wants to grow with our organization long-term, take ownership of their responsibilities, and contribute to the positive impact we are making in our community.

Tagalog/Filipino language skills are highly preferred, but not required, and would be especially valuable in helping us serve our diverse community.

Medical Billing
Submit insurance claims electronically and accurately in a timely manner.
Monitor outstanding claims and follow up on unpaid, delayed, or denied claims.

Help ensure patients are connected to the appropriate services and receive timely administrative support.
Preferred Experience
The following experience is helpful but not required:

The Person Who Will Thrive Here
You are someone who is:
Passionate about helping underserved communities.
Compassionate toward people experiencing mental health, financial, cultural, or access-to-care challenges.
Organized, dependable, adaptable, and detail-oriented.
Friendly and outgoing while maintaining professionalism and appropriate boundaries.
A strong listener and problem-solver.
Comfortable taking responsibility and following through.
A collaborative team player who wants the entire organization to succeed.
Motivated by meaningful work—not simply completing tasks.
Interested in building a long-term career and growing with our organization.
Why This Position Matters
This role has a direct connection to the people we serve.
When billing is handled correctly, patients are better able to maintain access to treatment. When eligibility is verified accurately, families can better understand their coverage. When someone calls our office looking for help, the way that call is handled can influence whether they successfully connect with care.
Your work helps create access. Your follow-through helps people remain connected to treatment. Your compassion can help someone feel supported during a difficult time.
We need someone who recognizes the importance of that responsibility and is genuinely excited to contribute to our mission.
