Salary: £50,202 to £65,000 depending on skills and experience 

Full-time, with flexibility for part-time.

37 hours per week/permanent 

Location: Lincoln/Peterborough/Huntingdon - Hybrid Working 2 days p/w in office.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, strategically important projects and smaller programmes across Anglian Water.

This is an opportunity to manage initiatives spanning people, processes, data and systems, turning business challenges into clearly defined projects and delivering outcomes that create lasting value. You’ll work closely with sponsors, senior stakeholders, project teams and change professionals to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality.

You’ll help our people understand, adopt and embed change, ensuring that the benefits of each project continue long after delivery. You’ll bring teams together, navigate complexity and create the clarity and momentum needed to turn ideas into successful outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

As our Senior Project Manager, you’ll:

• Lead multiple strategically important projects and initiatives from initial idea and definition through to delivery, transition and closure.
• Develop robust business cases, exploring potential solutions, capturing requirements and clearly defining costs, benefits and expected outcomes.
• Agree project deliverables with sponsors and create comprehensive project plans, work breakdown structures, milestones and change-management activities.
• Manage project budgets across both operational and capital expenditure, maintaining strong financial controls.
• Identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, escalating matters through the appropriate governance routes when required.
• Build trusted relationships with sponsors, senior stakeholders, business leads, suppliers and delivery partners.
• Establish effective project governance, reporting and communication across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups.
• Coach and develop colleagues, helping to strengthen project and change-management capability across the wider organisation.

Leading people through change

Successful delivery depends on bringing people with us. Working alongside sponsors and change professionals, you’ll apply structured change-management principles to help colleagues adopt new processes, systems and ways of working.

You’ll develop engagement and change plans, carry out impact and readiness assessments, anticipate resistance and make sure that business areas are properly prepared for transition. You’ll also help coordinate the volume and timing of change, ensuring that activity is manageable for our operational and front-line teams.

What does it take to be successful?

You’ll be an accomplished project professional with significant experience of leading multiple, complex projects and workstreams. You’ll be comfortable working with ambiguity, balancing competing priorities and influencing stakeholders at every level.

You’ll bring demonstrable experience of:

• Proven experience leading complex projects from business case development through to delivery, governance and benefits realisation.
• Strong commercial and financial management skills, with experience managing budgets, risks, issues, dependencies and project controls.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and communicate complex information clearly across all levels.
• Experience leading teams, managing resources and delivering successful change adoption across multiple concurrent projects or workstreams.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, balancing priorities whilst driving outcomes and sustainable business value.
