Role summary:
The Manager, Material Handling Equipment Service, leads vendor and contract management to ensure compliance and operational excellence within Walmart’s supply chain. This role oversees procurement, budgeting, and quality assurance processes while driving continuous improvement and reliability in equipment performance. The position requires strong collaboration with internal teams and external partners to resolve discrepancies, optimize service delivery, and support strategic business objectives. Utilizing data analysis and effective communication, the manager influences decisions that enhance operational efficiency and maintain high standards across material handling equipment services.
About the team:
The Automation Center of Excellence (COE) leads the management and enhancement of Grocery automation platforms, including Witron and Swisslog. This team partners with Operations, Engineering, and vendors to optimize performance, reduce downtime, and ensure scalable execution. They establish maintenance standards, oversee vendor governance, and drive continuous improvement by transforming reactive processes into data-driven operations. With strong technical expertise and cross-functional leadership, the COE delivers reliable systems and clear accountability, enabling the Grocery automation network to operate efficiently with resilience and readiness.
What you'll do:

• Manage vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with contracts and performance standards while resolving discrepancies efficiently.
• Oversee procurement activities, adhering to organizational protocols and documentation requirements for materials and services.
• Develop and manage budgets, analyzing variances and preparing expense reports to support operational goals.
• Drive operational excellence by identifying safety hazards, implementing standard procedures, and resolving process obstacles.
• Utilize data analysis tools to generate insights, support decision-making, and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align business needs with effective solutions and maintain strong partnerships.
• Lead contract administration, ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate recordkeeping.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience in vendor and contract management, ensuring compliance and maintaining strong supplier partnerships.
• Expertise in procurement processes, including documentation, approval workflows, and supplier transactions.
• Strong budgeting skills with the ability to analyze variances and manage large budgets effectively.
• Commitment to operational excellence through adherence to standard procedures and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in data analysis and digital tools to drive insights and support decision-making.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills to engage stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
• Ability to identify and implement business process improvements and manage change initiatives.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
