As a Security Officer Full Time TWIC Entry Control in Tampa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Security Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and support a secure environment for port operations. You will remain visible, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents. - Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor and control access to port facilities, gates, restricted areas, and distribution locations by verifying credentials, visitor authorization, and delivery documentation.
- Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, driver, and vehicle entry records in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, business locations, and perimeter areas to help identify unauthorized access and report security-related concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration.
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
