What you'll be doing

 

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Commercial Banking Technology. As a Senior Manager, Production Support, you will lead the support and operational stability of critical client-facing applications in the commercial banking space. You will oversee incident management, problem resolution, service improvement, and team leadership for platforms built on Java, APIs, microservices, React, Oracle, Kafka, ISAM and Flutter. You will partner closely with engineering, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable service delivery, rapid issue resolution, and continuous improvement of production operations. This role is ideal for a strong technical leader who brings deep application support expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a passion for operational excellence, along with strong capabilities in Application Reliability Engineering (ARE) practices that improve resilience, observability, automation, and operational readiness.

How you'll succeed

 

• Design and development - Perform and coordinate complex application programming activities. Design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions. 
• Maintenance - Ensure application stability through incident, change and problem management
• Strategic planning - Ensure application stability through incident, change and problem management
• Leadership skills - Act as tech lead and ensure timely delivery of the projects besides ensuring Production stability. Support and mentor Junior and intermediate developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving.

 

 Who you are

 

• You can demonstrate experience with: around 10+ years of relevant experience, strong leadership in production support or technology operations, proven experience in complex enterprise environments, and solid technical knowledge of Java, APIs, microservices, React, Oracle, Kafka, ISAM, and Flutter. We are seeking an experienced technology leader to lead production support for client-facing applications and digital services, with responsibility for major incident management, service restoration, escalations, stakeholder communications, problem management, and root cause analysis to improve stability and reduce recurring issues. Partners closely with development, infrastructure, security, and business teams to strengthen application reliability, supportability, and operational readiness, while overseeing release readiness, monitoring, operational controls, support processes, and compliance with risk, security, and audit requirements. This leader will champion Application Reliability Engineering practices by driving SLOs/SLIs, observability, automation, resilience, and proactive performance and capacity management, while also ensuring effective governance of TLS/SSL certificates and secure endpoint configurations. The ideal candidate will bring a degree in a related field or experience in financial services, ITIL, and high-availability production environments is an asset.
