Engineering Manager

The future of payments is changing fast. With crypto and stablecoins creating new opportunities across the industry, we’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to help shape what comes next. You’ll lead high-performing engineering teams building cutting-edge, serverless systems, while playing a key role in turning ambitious ideas into products that get to market.

This is a people, delivery and relationship-focused role. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, senior stakeholders and technology partners to drive complex projects forward, remove blockers and keep delivery moving at pace.

You’ll have the opportunity to shape team structures, improve how we work, build strong technology partnerships and help our UK engineering teams focus on larger, high-value initiatives.

What you’ll be doing as an Engineering Manager

• Lead and develop multiple engineering teams and managers, creating a high-performing and collaborative environment.
• Own delivery across key projects, keeping teams focused, accountable and moving forward.
• Build and manage strong relationships with third-party development partners and suppliers.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering and senior stakeholders to align priorities and delivery.
• Translate complex technical information into clear business decisions, actions and outcomes.
• Identify and remove delivery blockers, risks and dependencies before they impact projects.
• Drive improvements across engineering processes, ways of working, quality and delivery.
• Support the UK engineering team in delivering larger, strategic and high-value projects.
• Develop Engineering Managers and future leaders, helping build greater leadership capability across the function.
• Champion a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and strong communication.

What you’ll bring to the Engineering Manager role

• Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams and/or Engineering Managers.
• A strong track record of delivering complex technology projects successfully.
• Excellent people management, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing third-party development teams, suppliers or technology partners.
• The ability to build trusted relationships quickly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive, delivery-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• The ability to see the bigger picture and connect engineering activity to wider business objectives.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple teams, priorities and projects.
• A good understanding of software development, Agile methodologies and modern engineering practices.
• Technical credibility is important, but deep hands-on coding experience is not essential — strong leadership and delivery skills are the priority.
  
  
  Where you’ll work

Our working model varies depending on the specific role and team requirements. We strive to provide flexibility whilst ensuring that each position is best supported for optimal collaboration and performance. 

The Engineering Manager position ideally requires you to be in our London office a minimum of one days per week.
