Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Food Safety Team Leader, on a 2.5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £27.96 - £36.91 per hour
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Food Safety Team Leader to lead the day-to-day management of our Food Safety Team, ensuring the effective delivery of statutory food law regulatory services. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Environmental Health professional with extensive local authority food safety experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Food Safety Team.
- Provide leadership and supervision to Principal Enforcement Officers, Enforcement Officers, Assistant Enforcement Officers and Business Support staff.
- Manage a small portfolio of complex food safety cases, providing expert advice and guidance where required.
- Work collaboratively with the Business Unit Manager to develop strategic plans and future service delivery objectives.
- Ensure the effective delivery of statutory food law regulatory functions in line with current legislation and national guidance.
- Lead business planning activities and monitor team performance against service objectives and key performance indicators.
Essentials:
- Extensive current experience regulating food safety within a Local Authority.
- Relevant Environmental Health qualification and authorisation to undertake food safety enforcement duties.
- Sound knowledge of food safety legislation, food hygiene and food standards.
- Significant experience undertaking food safety inspections and managing complex enforcement cases.
- Previous experience leading, supervising or managing teams within a regulatory or Environmental Health setting.
- Experience of business planning, performance management and service improvement.
