About the role
As a Category Specialist, you will partner with key stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of SBES strategies, objectives, and procurement priorities. You will lead the delivery of best-practice sourcing and procurement activities across a diverse category portfolio, driving value for money, optimising supplier performance, and ensuring effective risk management and compliance with procurement policies and industry best practice.
Leveraging your strong stakeholder management, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, you will build productive relationships with both internal partners and external suppliers. Your ability to collaborate and drive outcomes will be key to delivering procurement solutions that support and advance SBES's strategic goals.
What you’ll be doing:
Develop and execute sourcing strategies across assigned categories.
Identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, supplier performance and supply continuity.
Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities and emerging technologies to support business growth and innovation.
Ensure supplier agreements align with commercial objectives, risk requirements and procurement policies.
Analyse procurement, inventory and logistics performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Lead initiatives that optimise inventory levels, reduce costs and improve service outcomes.
What you’ll bring:
Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, category management or supply chain operations.
Strong supplier negotiation and contract management capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
