Principal Business Analyst

The Role 

As a member of the team, the Principal Analyst leads initiatives with diverse scope and complexity, acting as the primary interface between end users, product management, and the systems organization. Our Analysts collaborate with business partners to assess complex business requirements and translate them into effective data solutions. We work with business practitioners such as Portfolio Managers, Senior Management, and Attribution Analysts in defining analytical approaches to solving business requests. Finally, we support our delivery team’s dedication to quality by crafting and implementing tests that address business needs and ensure the delivery of solutions to our end users. 

The Expertise and Skills You Bring 

In this role, you will apply your experience in business analysis to support the delivery of data-driven insights and solutions within a dynamic and evolving environment. You will work closely with business and technology partners to understand needs, translate requirements into clear and actionable outputs, and help drive initiatives forward. This includes analyzing data, developing use cases, supporting user acceptance testing, and contributing to product documentation to ensure solutions meet business objectives. 

You will bring a strong understanding of how to interpret and leverage data, using it to inform decisions, define key performance indicators, and identify opportunities for improvement. Operating in a collaborative environment, you will partner across teams to deliver outcomes while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and take initiative. Success in this role requires curiosity, adaptability, and a thoughtful approach to problem-solving, particularly when navigating ambiguity or shifting priorities. 

You will also contribute to improving processes and outcomes by challenging existing approaches and recommending enhancements that mitigate risk and drive positive change. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be expected to convey complex ideas clearly and influence stakeholders through concise and impactful messaging. A solid understanding of technology and system architecture will further enable you to bridge business and technical perspectives effectively.

• ​Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience (preferred fields include business, finance, or technology) 

• A minimum of five years of financial services or a related industry (preferred) 

• Ability to analyze data and translate business needs into clear requirements and measurable outcomes 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex issues  

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and drive outcomes  

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
