Purpose of the role
To develop, maintain and improve In-Circuit Test systems, production test processes and test fixtures for printed circuit board assemblies.
The role supports manufacturing teams through hands-on problem solving, maintaining production test equipment and fixtures, and improving test reliability and first-pass yield on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain and improve In-Circuit Test programmes, fixtures and production test processes for PCB assemblies.
- Support new product introduction by defining suitable production test methods and ensuring test readiness before release to manufacture.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with test equipment, test fixtures and PCB assemblies to support efficient production and high first-pass yield.
- Work closely with production operators, technicians, quality and design teams to improve test coverage, product reliability and ease of manufacture.
- Analyse test data, identify trends and provide clear feedback to support yield improvement and root cause analysis.
- Maintain ICT equipment, test fixtures and related documentation, ensuring systems remain safe, reliable and suitable for production use.
- Document test procedures, test changes, fault findings and improvement actions to support traceability and knowledge sharing.
- Develop and maintain software for in-house production tracking and test-related systems, including applications using MS Visual Basic, MS SQL and NI LabVIEW.
Attributes
