Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Technician to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. As a Logistics Technician, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the flow of goods and materials in and out of our warehouse facility. You will work closely with our logistics team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the receiving and shipping of goods and materials, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain inventory levels and track shipments to ensure timely delivery
- Conduct regular inventory audits to identify and resolve any discrepancies
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to schedule delivery of materials and resolve any issues
- Monitor and maintain warehouse equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damages
- Prepare and maintain shipping and receiving documents, such as bills of lading and shipping manifests
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Adhere to all safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment
- Keep accurate records of all warehouse activities, including inventory levels and shipping/receiving logs
- Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to streamline processes and increase efficiency
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a logistics or warehouse role
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes
- Proficient in using warehouse management software and Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Forklift certification is preferred but not required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
