Overview
Expleo is seeking a Software Engineer – Marine Training Systems to support the maintenance, enhancement, integration and deployment of advanced training and simulation systems operating within secure defence environments.
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, the successful candidate will contribute to software development, testing, troubleshooting and deployment activities across a range of operational training and simulation platforms. This role offers an excellent opportunity for engineers looking to further develop their software engineering capabilities within a complex defence and maritime environment.
The position is focused on sustaining and improving deployed systems, supporting software updates, capability enhancements, system maintenance and customer deployments throughout the product support lifecycle.
This role is based full-time on-site, working directly alongside customer engineering and assurance teams throughout programme execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop, modify and maintain software applications supporting training and simulation systems.
- Support software testing, verification and validation activities.
- Investigate and resolve software defects and technical issues.
- Assist with software patching, Windows updates and system maintenance activities.
- Support integration activities involving software, hardware interfaces and networked systems.
- Participate in release activities including FAT, TRR, TCR and customer deployments.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation and engineering records.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause investigations.
- Assist with deployment and installation activities at customer sites.
- Work collaboratively with software, systems, integration and support teams.
- Follow established engineering processes, quality standards and security requirements.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
- Equivalent technical qualifications and relevant industry experience will also be considered.
