The Surveying Technician supports our surveying and engineering teams by performing a variety of field, office, and mapping duties. This position also assists with drafting, mapping, and complies surveying information on coordinates, pictures, angles, and distances.
Requirements
Key Responsibilites:
- Sets up, adjusts, operates, inspects surveying equipment, including electronic total station, data collector to measure distances, elevations, angles, and other data in order to collect survey data.
- Participates and observes field and construction investigations.
- Processes data from manual or electronic field books.
- Performs basic field calculations on construction projects.
- Retraces or surveys boundary lines under supervision.
- Assists in researching existing record information, including record maps, plans, deeds, easements, and right-of-way documents; and maintain field data record.
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- An associate degree in a civil engineering or land surveying program is preferred.
- One or more years of relevant work experience related to surveying services is preferred.
- College course work in surveying or civil engineering field is preferred
License or Certification Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license is required
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Be able to walk and climb over rough terrain
PPE Requirements:
- Hi-Visibility clothing should be worn on job sites and in the field as necessary.
