Who we are looking for
State Street Prime Services is a market-leading custody-based Prime business. Prime Services has a global client base and continues to experience exponential growth and rapid product expansion. We are looking for a Head of Securities Lending, Prime Services in North America to help us expand and further develop the existing franchise and grow our share in a competitive market landscape.
We are looking for a dynamic person with a passion for growing product capabilities, developing, mentoring and leading teams, and driving client and revenue growth.

The team you will be joining is a part of State Street Markets (SSM). When owners and managers of institutional assets need research, trading, securities lending and innovative portfolio strategies, they turn to SSM business units. As our investment research and trading arm, SSM’s number one goal is to enhance and preserve our clients’ portfolio values by applying technology, optimizing trading, and linking asset classes and markets across the world. This position sits in State Street Markets’ Execution Financing, and Clearing division, which spans several execution, financing and clearing offerings, including high-touch and electronic trading, partnered trading, currency management, agency lending, prime services and secured financing.

What you will be responsible for
As North America Head of Securities Lending, Prime Services, you will:
- Set and execute the strategic vision for State Street's North American securities finance trading business, driving growth, profitability, and market leadership while helping shape the future direction of the broader Prime Services platform.
- Lead, develop, and inspire a team of traders across Boston and Jersey City, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and excellence while mentoring and developing the next generation of trading talent.
- Evaluate and enhance trading processes, workflows, technology, and operating models to improve scalability, efficiency, risk management, and client outcomes.
- Serve as a senior trading representative for the franchise, building and maintaining executive-level relationships with hedge funds, asset managers, agent lenders, broker-dealers, and other key market participants.
- Partner with clients to understand their financing and securities borrowing needs, delivering differentiated solutions that deepen relationships and drive business growth across the Prime Services platform.
- Drive trading and financial performance through effective inventory optimization, financing strategy, risk management, and execution across the securities finance business.
- Identify emerging market trends, competitive dynamics, and strategic opportunities, translating market intelligence into actionable initiatives that strengthen the franchise's competitive position and support continued innovation.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Client Management, Product Development, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Treasury teams to deliver a best-in-class client experience while advancing the firm's broader financing and synthetic prime capabilities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, providing thought leadership, market insight, and strategic recommendations on securities finance, market structure, and industry developments.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in securities finance, stock loan, prime brokerage, or related financing markets, with a demonstrated track record of commercial success and revenue growth.
- Significant leadership experience building, developing, and managing high-performing trading teams and organizations.
- Deep relationships across the securities finance ecosystem, including hedge funds, agent lenders, broker-dealers, and other key market participants.
- Proven ability to build, scale, and transform trading businesses, drive strategic initiatives, and influence product development and business growth.
- Entrepreneurial and results-oriented leader with strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking skills, and a passion for developing talent and building successful teams.
- Proficiency in Bloomberg and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.

Salary Range:
$240,000 - $251,250 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
