The Opportunity
TPI has built a strong position serving the casino industry through data-driven marketing and print production. Now with TPI’s Mobile Solutions division we extend that relationship beyond the post office’s mailbox and onto our customers' phones, tables, and laptops. Our mobile products give casino and gaming operators new ways to reach, engage, and retain their patrons (Players), and that demand for communication solutions keeps growing.
We are looking for a VP of Mobile Solutions who wants to own this business end to end - the product, the platform, the people, and the customer relationship.
This is an opportunity to build and run a technology-driven business inside a profitable company that already knows how to win in the gaming space. You will decide what we build, how we support it, and a strong voice in how we sell it. You will have a seat at the leadership table, direct access to the CEO, and real ownership of a growing part of TPI's business.
TPI is also an employee-owned company through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). That gives this work added meaning: the products you build and the customers you win strengthen the business and help build long-term value for the employees who own it.
We use the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to align priorities, strengthen accountability, and turn plans into action. As a member of our executive team, you will help us refine and strengthen how we put that framework to work as the company grows.
We need a leader who can run mobile like a business, not a feature set.
Your Mandate: Own the Product. Serve the Customer. Grow the Business.
Our casino customers expect mobile products that work flawlessly and customer support that solves problems quickly. Meeting that expectation is a nonnegotiable part of this role - but it is not the limit of the role.
Your mandate is to make Mobile Solutions an increasingly important driver of TPI's revenue, customer relationships, and competitive position.
You will lead product development, software development, customer support, contracting, sales pursuits, and legal and compliance for TPI's mobile products, while working hand-in-hand with our corporate sales team to grow the business.
What You Will Lead
- A mobile product our customers can't get elsewhere. Set the product roadmap and lead its software development, balancing new capability with the reliability our casino customers require.
- Support that keeps customers confident. Own customer support, our “white-glove service” for our mobile products - responsive, knowledgeable, and built to keep patron-facing systems running.
- Deals that get done right. Lead sales pursuits and contracting for mobile opportunities, working with sales and legal to shape terms that protect TPI and win the business.
- Legal and compliance you can trust. Own legal and compliance issues specific to our mobile products, including applicable gaming-related regulatory requirements, so our platform stays trustworthy as it grows.
- A true partnership with sales. Work hand-in-hand with our corporate sales team, sharing sales goals and collaborating closely with our head of sales on pricing - so product, packaging, and price all support the same growth targets.
- A stronger mobile team. Develop and mentor the people who build, support, and sell our mobile products. Build technical depth, clear accountability, and a team that understands the business it is serving.
- Disciplined execution and investment. Prioritize product and development work based on customer impact, revenue potential, and cost. Manage budgets, staffing, and vendor relationships for the Mobile Solutions team.
Your Partnership with Technology
TPI's Technology organization, led by the CIO, owns our shared enterprise infrastructure, information security, and data governance.
You will partner closely with the CIO where mobile products depend on that shared foundation, while retaining ownership of Mobile's software development, product roadmap, commercial strategy, and financial performance.
The expectation is a productive partnership with clear accountability - not overlapping ownership.
Requirements
What Success Looks Like
Success will be visible in both the performance of today's business and the capabilities we build for tomorrow:
- Revenue growth in step with sales: Shared sales goals met, with pricing and packaging that support the broader sales strategy.
- A profitable P&L: A profitable solution set that extends TPI’s product suite preparing it for an increasingly digital future.
- A product customers choose: A mobile platform that wins and retains casino and gaming customers, with a roadmap that keeps pace with what they need next.
- Support customers trust: Fast, effective resolution of customer issues and strong satisfaction with how mobile is supported.
- Deals that close cleanly: RPF responses and contract negotiation that win business on terms that protect TPI.
- A capable and accountable team: Stronger leaders, deeper skills, and continued development and retention of talent across product, development, and support.
- Solution Architecture for the 21st Century: A sound and secure systems architecture that keeps our applications up and running, our customer’s Players engaged while protecting TPI and our customers from increasingly sophisticated cyber-threats.
The Leader We Are Looking For
You are a business-minded product and technology leader who can own a P&L, not just a product roadmap. You are comfortable negotiating a contract with a customer, reviewing a compliance requirement with legal, and setting a shared target alongside your head of sales. You know that a mobile product succeeds or fails on more than code. It requires judgment, customer relationships, disciplined execution, and the ability to bring a team along.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- Substantial leadership experience in mobile or digital products, typically 10 or more years of progressive responsibility, including experience owning a product or business unit at the VP level business unity president level.
- Technical and business breath. Your fluent and comfortable talking to a client’s CEO as well as their CIO or CTO about a product’s business value, technical architecture and security framework.
- Breadth across the mobile product lifecycle, including product development, software development, customer support, sales pursuits, and contracting with experience leading through managers.
- Commercial acumen, including experience partnering with sales on pricing, packaging, and shared revenue goals, and a record of turning product investment into business results.
- Legal and compliance fluency, including experience managing contracts, RFPs, and regulatory requirements - gaming-industry experience is highly valued.
- A hands-on leadership style, with the ability to work effectively in a mid-sized company rather than depend on a large corporate support structure.
Location and Working Expectations
This is a full-time executive leadership position based at TPI's headquarters in Des Moines, IA with minimal hybrid flexibility. A minimum of three days per week in-office is expected.
The role includes occasional travel to TPI locations, key customer sites, and industry conferences. Availability outside normal business hours is required when significant customer, contractual, or business issues call for executive involvement.
Physical requirements include regular sitting, standing, walking, detailed visual work, and computer use.
