Job Overview
The Landscape Construction Crew Lead/Driver is responsible for leading and performing landscape installation projects, including site preparation, grading, drainage installation, planting, and the placement of landscape features such as fencing, boulders, and steppingstones. Operates hand tools and heavy equipment to clear land, prepare terrain, transport materials, and install landscape components. Oversees daily crew activities by delegating tasks, ensuring the safe and efficient use of tools and equipment, monitoring project progress, and providing recommendations to achieve project goals. Assists with recruiting, training, and developing crew members to maintain a productive and high-performing team.
Responsibilities and Duties
Clears out land and sets grade for landscape installation
Loads and unloads trucks by hand and hauls landscape components using hand tolls or heavy equipment

Prepares and grades terrain
Digs trenches and installs drainage components
Digs holes for plants and trees using hand tools and heavy equipment
Installs fencing and other ornamental components; places boulders and stepping stones
Delegating tasks and overseeing the use of tools and equipment.
Recruiting and training new crew members.
Assessing progress and making recommendations.
Ensuring all crew members obey health and safety regulations at all times.
Completing inventory checks and equipment inspections.
Preparing spreadsheets and other documents.
Providing cost, material, equipment, and time estimates.
Scheduling training sessions wherever required.
Job Requirements
Valid Drivers License with driving record in good standing
Minimum of 2+ years working experience
Knowledge of tools and equipment used in landscape construction
Knowledge and experience using heavy equipment such as Skid Steer.
Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions.
