General Responsibilities
- Serve as the communications lead for the agency, developing and executing an integrated, mission consistent communications strategy that drives brand awareness, donor acquisition, donor retention, and community engagement.
- Supervise positions responsible for donor communications.
- Serve as a member of the Development team, contributing to the Development Plan, and collaborating with the team to achieve the Development Division’s goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external communication requests, working with program staff to gather information and translate it into clear, consistent messaging.
- Create, write, design, and produce a high volume of communication materials, including print, digital and social media content.
- Oversee the Agency's website and social media accounts.
- Evaluate communication performance using data and analytics, and adjust strategies to improve outcomes.
- Create and implement public relations and media relations plans to promote the Agency’s programs and services, including drafting press releases, responding to inquiries, and identifying opportunities for coverage.
- Manage vendor relationships for printing, design, and other services.
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality standards, including HIPAA considerations, in all communications and materials
- Coordinate communication strategies for fundraisers, events, and annual reports.
- Direct internal and external communication plans related to strategic planning, strategic action, and change management.
- Improve communication processes and workflows to increase efficiency and effectiveness across the agency.
- Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing.
- Excellent writing, editing, and content development skills across multiple formats.
- Excellent organizational skills, project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Positive interpersonal skills with staff, clients, donors, and volunteers.
- Experience with digital marketing strategies including website optimization, SEO, email marketing platforms, CRM systems (such as Raisers Edge) and data driven campaign management.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Teams), Adobe Acrobat, Canva, WordPress and similar programs for content creation and communication.
- Excellent public speaking and interpersonal skills.
- Passage of complete background clearance and any other required testing or clearances.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of liability insurance.
- Adhere to the Agency’s Code of Ethics and conduct all responsibilities in accordance with the standards outlined in the Employee Handbook.
