Job Description

We are seeking an analytical, curious, and detail-oriented FP&A and Business Intelligence Intern to join our team. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of corporate finance and modern data analytics. We are looking for a "fresh pair of eyes"—someone who can learn our existing reporting workflows, challenge the status quo, and help us build automated safeguards. You won't just pull numbers; you will actively look for ways to improve any existing process, translate raw data into actionable insights, and streamline our month-end close workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Close Support & Data Reconciliation: Help execute critical data validations, system tie-outs (such as Releases and Revenue tie-outs, and ending backlog), and cross-checking data between internal systems and final reporting outputs.

• Performance Tracking & Data Hygiene: Conduct gap analysis comparing forecasts and estimations against actual sales and releases numbers. Track these variances and create alerts for different teams to drive data cleanup and ensure validation. Assist with regular system loading checks to ensure data flows accurately between our BI tools and financial databases.

• The "Fresh Eyes" Initiative (Process Improvement, BI & Documentation): Shadow the team to learn how we currently manage data and actively identify manual, repetitive reporting tasks. Help us build scripted solutions (using Python, Google Apps Script, or SQL) to improve speed and safeguard data accuracy. Furthermore, assist in designing and updating interactive visual dashboards (Power BI, Tableau) and take ownership of reviewing and maintaining our existing BI Workflow documentation to ensure our processes are standardized and easy for future team members to follow.

Basic Requirements

• Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Data Analytics from a recognized university. Must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0.

• Technical Stack: Academic experience or basic exposure to Python and SQL with a strong willingness to learn how to apply them for data extraction and automation. Familiarity with data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI (PBI) is highly preferred.

• Spreadsheet Proficiency: Strong foundation in Excel/Google Sheets core functions (INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) with an eagerness to learn advanced applications (like Google Apps Script).

• Professional Skills: Driven, self-motivated, and results-oriented.

• Work Ethic: Highly detail-oriented self-starter capable of working independently while managing time, multiple assignments, and rapidly changing priorities in a collaborative environment.

• Location: Must be willing to work in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
