Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for managing and overseeing financial accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Skilled in general ledger management, account reconciliations, month-end and year-end close processes, financial analysis, budgeting, and variance analysis. Provides support to management through detailed financial insights, identifies process improvements, and works closely with internal teams, auditors, and regulators to ensure financial accuracy and integrity. Demonstrates strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
- Understand bank products and services and their respective profitability.
- Prepare/Post General Ledger entries.
- This may include entries for investments, accruals, fixed assets, payroll, and other assets/liabilities.
- Prepares quarterly regulatory reports for banks and bank holding company.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for directors and executive committees.
- Utilize report generating module to create reports for various departments within the bank.
- Manage integrity of accounting system and review financial data.
- Monitor format and settings of general ledger system.
- Assist with internal and external audit functions.
- Assist with monitoring forecasted net interest risk and related cash flow.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and monitor budgeted financial performance.
- Recommend and assess new bank products and services.
- Reconcile General Ledger accounts daily, weekly and monthly.
- Research and resolve discrepancies on reconcilements.
Additional Functions:

Requirements (Education, Experience):
- Bachelors Degree, in Finance or Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Three Years of Retail Banking experience.
- Tact and diplomacy in dealing with both customers and employees
- Able to work well under pressure

Physical Requirements:
This work is sedentary and requires the following physical activities:
- Sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
- Frequent lifting (up to 10 pounds of paper supplies or minor office equipment).
- May be required to travel by air or car
