Responsibilities
The Assistant Technical Designer is responsible for the creation and management of technical specifications for licensed and generic costume and accessory products.
- Create technical specification packages for licensed and generic costumes and accessories across men’s, women’s, kids’, and infant categories
- Partner with Product Development to address technical and production issues
- Respond to factory questions and troubleshoot issues throughout production
- Conduct fittings and document fit comments, measurements, photos, and required pattern corrections
- Communicate technical details, construction requirements, and fit updates to factories
- Develop grade rules to ensure consistent sizing across products
- Review and complete factory pattern corrections as needed
Qualifications
- Experience in apparel, soft goods, or costume technical design/product development
- Knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading, and pattern corrections
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- PLM experience preferred; CLO 3D experience a plus
