About Team
Walmart Global Tech is focused on improving Walmart's customer experience across both physical & digital and making Walmart the most exciting place to shop. With 4000+ brick and mortar stores and thousands of other suppliers fulfilling Walmart's online/in-store orders for over 1 billion customers — the challenge and complexity is pronounced.
Walmart's Growth organization sits at the intersection of commerce and monetization — powering AdTech (Walmart Connect), Data Ventures, and Walmart+ to unlock new revenue streams and deepen customer engagement at massive scale. Our teams build the advertising platforms, data products, and membership experiences that are transforming Walmart from the world's largest retailer into a technology-powered growth engine. We operate in a fast-moving, highly competitive landscape where speed-to-market, data-driven decision making, and platform scalability are critical differentiators.
Our TPM team leads strategic planning and ensures successful delivery of Growth's most complex, cross-cutting initiatives through rigorous program execution, stakeholder alignment, and technical thought leadership. We coordinate across advertising, data, membership, and core commerce domains — defining goals, managing dependencies, mitigating risk, and driving continuous improvement. We bring program management discipline to a space that demands both startup agility and enterprise-grade reliability.
About the Role
You will play a key leadership role in scaling Walmart's Growth platforms — Walmart Connect (AdTech), Data Ventures, and Walmart+ — that collectively represent one of the fastest-growing parts of Walmart's business. You will be responsible for driving large-scale programs that cut across advertiser experiences, ad-serving infrastructure, data monetization pipelines, membership lifecycle, and core commerce integration.
This role requires you to lead a high-performing TPM team while directly driving ambiguous, complex programs across multiple business domains and technology stacks. As a functional owner, you will work closely with business, product, engineering, data science, and sales leadership to ensure timely planning, disciplined execution, and delivery against aggressive growth targets. You will partner with engineering and product leadership to shape the technical strategy, drive platform convergence, and unlock operational efficiencies through technology innovation.
You need to demonstrate deep technical acumen in areas such as ad-tech systems, real-time bidding, data platforms, experimentation frameworks, and subscription/membership ecosystems. You will nurture a platform mindset to create enterprise-wide leverage and reduce fragmentation across Growth's rapidly evolving portfolio. As a people leader, you will be responsible for hiring, career development, and continuously raising the performance bar of the team.
What You'll Do
This role is responsible for driving cross-functional alignment, program execution, technical thought leadership, and stakeholder management across complex technical initiatives within Growth. This role serves as a strategic amplifier of engineering efforts — connecting business goals with technology delivery and ensuring programs stay on track through ambiguity, rapid iteration, and market-driven change.
Stakeholder Engagement & Program Alignment
Identify and engage relevant stakeholders across Growth's diverse ecosystem — including AdTech, Data Ventures, Walmart+, core commerce, finance, legal, and privacy teams.
Develop and implement stakeholder management strategies that reconcile competing priorities across monetization, membership growth, and customer experience.
Lead cross-functional alignment across advertising, data, and membership domains by facilitating conversations that resolve conflicts and drive consensus.
Secure stakeholder buy-in for program roadmaps, ensuring transparency on priorities, revenue impact, and value delivery timelines.
Coach team members on effective stakeholder engagement techniques in a multi-stakeholder, revenue-sensitive environment.
Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving
Use data analysis and research to define program success metrics — including advertiser performance, data product adoption, membership growth/retention, and platform reliability.
Apply structured problem-solving techniques to complex challenges spanning ad-serving latency, data pipeline scalability, and membership funnel optimization.
Lead root cause analysis, promote insight extraction from advertising analytics, experimentation results, and customer behaviour data to influence decisions.
Mentor others on effective problem identification, analytical frameworks, and diagnostic tools relevant to Growth's data-rich environment.
Program Planning & Development
Define and manage large-scale program plans including scope, milestones, dependencies, and resources across AdTech, Data Ventures, and Walmart+ initiatives.
Drive clarity in ambiguous situations — such as emerging ad formats, new data partnerships, evolving privacy regulations, or shifting membership strategies.
Secure commitments from stakeholders and resolve cross-team and cross-domain constraints spanning Growth and core commerce platforms.
Identify synergies and reduce duplication across AdTech, Data Ventures, and Walmart+ workstreams to maximize shared platform investment.
Improve ways of working by introducing better planning, tooling, and workflows tailored to Growth's pace of innovation.
Program Delivery & Risk Management
Drive program execution by managing risk, scope, timeline, and budget across a portfolio of Growth initiatives with direct revenue impact.
Use project tracking tools and dashboards to monitor performance across multiple initiatives, surfacing leading indicators of delivery risk.
Assess and mitigate risks across domains — including advertiser-facing SLAs, data compliance, privacy regulations (CCPA, GDPR), and membership experience degradation.
Ensure teams remain focused on high-impact work and are unblocked to deliver against aggressive growth and revenue goals.
Align resources and priorities to maximize value delivery during peak advertising seasons (holidays, tentpole events) and membership campaigns.
Technical Fluency
Translate business and program requirements into high-level technical design conversations across ad-serving, real-time bidding, audience segmentation, data pipelines, and membership platforms.
Understand modern software architecture including cloud infrastructure, event-driven systems, ML/AI pipelines, APIs, clean rooms, and platform capabilities relevant to AdTech and data products.
Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to broker end-to-end solutions that balance advertiser performance, data privacy, and platform scalability.
Apply knowledge of emerging technologies — including retail media innovation, privacy-preserving measurement, and personalization frameworks — to inform program decisions.
Domain Expertise & Cross-Functional Integration
Demonstrate deep awareness of the retail media, data monetization, and membership/subscription industry landscape, including competitive dynamics, regulatory trends, and evolving advertiser expectations.
Extend program plans to include sales enablement, advertiser experience, partner integration, and customer impact analysis.
Lead due diligence for build vs. buy decisions and assess implications of new ad products, data partnerships, and automation techniques.
Influence product and business roadmaps with domain insights and strategic foresight on Growth's market opportunity.
Influential Communication
Craft and deliver clear, concise narratives backed by revenue data, advertiser metrics, membership KPIs, and qualitative insights.
Tailor communication styles to stakeholder needs — from engineering deep-dives to executive business reviews and advertiser-facing updates.
Facilitate decision-making by framing options, risks, and trade-offs in terms of revenue impact, customer value, and competitive positioning.
Provide and receive feedback with a growth mindset; evolve team practices based on collective input.
Lead complex discussions and communicate positions with transparency and neutrality across Growth's multi-stakeholder landscape.
What You'll Bring
Proven track record of leading technical programs at scale, preferably in advertising technology, data platforms, or subscription/membership ecosystems.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across business, product, engineering, sales, and executive leadership.
Proficiency in program management tools and reporting dashboards with a bias toward data-driven decision making.
Familiarity with software and systems design principles — particularly in areas such as real-time systems, data pipelines, ML/AI, and cloud-native architectures.
Experience working across multiple domains including engineering, product, operations, and revenue/commercial teams.
Understanding of privacy regulations, data governance, and compliance considerations relevant to advertising and data products.
