 Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled IT Analyst Technical Infrastructure (Tidal Support Analyst) to join our IT Infrastructure Support -CAT IT Division.

This position will provide operational support of the Tidal job scheduling product and associated products, as well as, consultation for the application support teams. The application jobs run on various technical platforms including SAP, .Net, J2EE, Unix, Linux, and Windows, supporting critical Caterpillar enterprise systems including distributed Build to Ship, Mission Critical, financially significant, and HR applications.  The Tidal support team manages the batch job scheduling controls and processes utilized by application support teams around the world and hosting in several global hosting sites.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Whitefield PSN Office, Bangalore, India

 What you will do

The analyst will utilize Tidal Enterprise Scheduler functions to establish job streams with complex dependencies, manage intricate calendar schedules.

Specific deliverables:

  • Monitor and interact with complex scheduling
  • Set job rules and define critical schedule dependencies
  • Preventative detection and maintenance of job streams and the schedule Job stream analysis and provide recommendations for optimization of schedule performance
  • Implementation and documentation of best practices, processes and train level 1 operations/application teams Define and implement ongoing operational support model
  • Create and maintain complex scheduling calendars
  • Manage maintenance and emergency outage windows on critical application servers
  • Participate in on-call rotation during off-shift hours and weekends Coordinate with application teams to onboard into Enterprise Tidal environment as per the defined operational support model.
  • Install and maintain the base Tidal product, and complimentary software with a focus on a release methodology of n-1 including server, storage, and DB management
  • Ownership of the Tidal software products short- and long-term architecture, operational, deployment, and support models Interfacing with Tidal product support to escalate support issues and operational incidents Implement system changes to align with IT, Security, and SOx control processes

What you will have 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 7 year's experience in IT application/infrastructure or comparable bachelor’s degree
  • The position requires the candidate to work a 5-a day -week schedule in the office
  • Shift Timing: EMEA Shift: 01:00PM -10:00PM IST

Systems Software Infrastructure: Knowledge of computer architecture and system software interaction; ability to design and build a fundamental architecture of operating systems, database management systems, communications protocols, compilers and other development tools.

• Administers software migration and contingency plans related to own function.

• Tests key features for the entire software infrastructure environment.
