About the Role
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for leading the development of software solutions for embedded Linux platforms, industrial controls, instrumentation systems and IoT edge devices. The position provides technical leadership, collaborates across multiple engineering disciplines, and drives the development of innovative, scalable, secure, and reliable products that support industrial operations and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, debug, document, and maintain complex software applications and embedded systems
Develop software for embedded Linux platforms, industrial controls, instrumentation systems, and IoT edge devices
Lead software architecture, technical design reviews, and software development projects from concept through deployment
Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications, user interfaces, dashboards, and data visualization tools for industrial and digital solutions
Develop cloud-connected applications and services for remote monitoring, diagnostics, analytics, device management, and digital product offerings
Develop algorithms for data acquisition, signal processing, analytics, artificial intelligence, and operational intelligence solutions
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, controls, manufacturing, and product management teams to deliver integrated solutions
Develop and implement AI-enabled capabilities that enhance automation, diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and operational efficiency
Ensure software quality through code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, cybersecurity best practices, and engineering standards
Mentor junior engineer(s) and provide technical leadership while driving continuous improvement, innovation, and product modernization
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
5+ years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership responsibilities
Strong proficiency in C and C++ software development
Extensive experience developing applications on Linux-based and embedded platforms
Experience developing software for industrial controls, instrumentation, automation systems, IoT products, or edge computing solutions
Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Desired knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, MQTT, OPC UA, or similar technologies
Desired knowledge of AI/ML technologies and data analytics
Desired experience developing real-time, multithreaded applications
Desired experience with modern web development technologies, including JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, React, Angular, Node.js, or similar front-end and back-end frameworks
Desired experience with secure application development practices and cybersecurity
Desired knowledge of developing full-stack web applications using databases, cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
Desired experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing
