Are you an experienced scheduling or workforce-planning leader who understands that an effective roster is about much more than filling shifts?

The Salvation Army Aged Care is seeking a commercially aware and highly collaborative Scheduling Manager to lead workforce scheduling across our residential aged care services.

Supporting a workforce of approximately 2,600 employees, you will lead an experienced team of seven and help our services maintain approved rosters, meet care-minute requirements and improve critical workforce outcomes.

About the role

Reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager, you will lead a well-established and experienced Scheduling Team, and work closely with Centre Managers, operational leaders, People and Culture, Talent Acquisition, payroll and workforce-systems teams.

You will provide the systems, reporting, advice and leadership needed to support effective workforce planning across our residential aged care services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading, coaching and supporting a team of seven
• Ensuring shifts are scheduled and covered in accordance with approved rosters
• Monitoring performance against workforce KPIs and care-minute targets
• Providing clear workforce-planning reports, insights and advice to operational leaders
• Monitoring agency usage, overtime, vacant shifts and other key workforce indicators
• Partnering with Centre Managers to identify risks and improve roster performance
• Maintaining accurate master roster templates across residential aged care services
• Supporting compliant rostering practices across relevant awards and enterprise agreements
• Using UKG, Emprevo and Workday to support efficient scheduling, workforce reporting and information flow
• Identifying and implementing improvements to workforce processes, reporting and systems
• Working with internal stakeholders to strengthen workforce capability and operational sustainability

About you

You are an experienced workforce scheduling leader who can balance operational detail with broader organisational outcomes.

You understand how roster design, workforce data and scheduling decisions affect service delivery, compliance, employee costs and financial performance. Just as importantly, you know that sustainable improvement depends on strong relationships and the ability to influence operational leaders.

You will bring:

• Significant experience in workforce scheduling, rostering or workforce planning within a large and complex organisation
• Previous experience leading and developing a scheduling or workforce team
• Strong knowledge of workforce KPIs, roster performance and payroll-related processes
• Experience working within award or enterprise agreement environments
• Advanced Excel and workforce-data analysis capability
• Experience using UKG, Emprevo, Workday or comparable workforce-management technology
• Strong reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders
• A practical approach to continuous improvement and change

A tertiary qualification in human resources, business, workforce management or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.

Experience within residential aged care, healthcare or another complex 24-hour service environment is preferred.
