The Istri Project :

The Istri Project at Udhyam Vyapaar focuses on upgrading streetside ironing vendors from coal based iron boxes to LPG ones. These are the vendors who stand on street corners and iron clothes for the residents of that neighbourhood.

The usage of coal as an input fuel for the iron boxes used by these vendors poses many challenges, from low productivity, to long term health issues.  The LPG iron box is an innovation that addresses these problems & also delivers a significant livelihood impact to users.

Our model to scale this impact involves a three fold approach to solving the problems of Awareness, Accessibility & Affordability.

The Role & Responsibilities:

We are looking for a dynamic and field-oriented Program Executive to support the implementation of the Istri Gas Agency Model in Vizag. The role involves building strong relationships with LPG gas agencies, coordinating with manufacturers and distributors, managing end-to-end execution of vendor onboarding and LPG distribution, and ensuring accurate data tracking and reporting.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys fieldwork, coordination, and working closely with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities :

1. Gas Agency Partnerships & Onboarding

• Identify, approach, and build relationships with LPG gas agencies

• Onboard gas agencies into the Istri Gas Agency Model

• Act as the primary point of contact between gas agencies and the project team

2. Order & Supply Chain Coordination

• Coordinate order placement with LPG stove/iron box manufacturers

• Liaise with gas distributors for timely supply and delivery

• Track order status, dispatch, and receipt at ground level

3. Distribution & Field Execution

• Support planning and execution of LPG distribution events

• Track inventory and ensure smooth handover to beneficiaries

• Prepare and present distribution reports with photos and documentation

4. Mobilization & Community Events

• Plan and conduct vendor mobilization and awareness events

• Coordinate with local partners, agencies, and community leaders

• Support beneficiary engagement and communication

5. Data Management & Reporting

• Collect, enter, and validate beneficiary data

• Maintain accurate records of onboarding, distribution, and usage

• Conduct endline data collection after project completion

• Share regular progress updates and reports with the central team

Skills & Knowledge : 

• Graduate or Diploma (Social Work, Management, Rural Development, or related fields preferred)

• 1–3 years of experience in field projects, CSR programs, NGOs, or operations roles

• Strong relationship-building and communication skills (Telugu mandatory; English preferred)

• Comfortable with field travel and ground-level coordination

• Basic data handling skills (Google Forms, Excel, mobile data tools)

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders
