Job Description/Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance and Safety Specialist drives meaningful improvements across products, services, and processes while building a strong culture of food safety, quality, and customer focus. This role leads safety and quality initiatives that meet regulatory requirements and strengthen how teams work every day. You’ll also help develop people through structured feedback, performance evaluations, and targeted skill development, with the opportunity to make a visible impact across the organization.

What You’ll Do

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that improve the efficiency, effectiveness, quality, and flexibility of products, services, and operational processes.

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety and food safety programs, including training, written procedures, and department-specific requirements that meet or exceed applicable federal, state, and provincial regulations.

• Implement and maintain quality systems, including FSSC 22000, ISO, and HACCP programs, while partnering with teams and regulatory agencies to develop practical compliance solutions.

• Support a customer-focused culture by identifying needs, resolving concerns, and improving experiences for internal and external customers.

• Design and support the Performance Development System (PDS), including evaluations, regular feedback, 360-degree feedback, performance ratings, and individualized skill development plans.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, food science, chemistry, or a related discipline.
• HACCP Experience
• GMP/ Food Safety Knowledge
• OSHA/ Safety Training Experience

Preferred

• Supervisory or people-leadership experience.

• Previous Food & Beverage Industry experience

• Demonstrated sensory evaluation aptitude.
