Team Overview

The Technology Internship Program is designed to provide university students with hands-on experience through the development of real business and technology projects within TransUnion. Participants will contribute to initiatives focused on Data, Software Development, Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Information Management, and DevOps, while gaining exposure to TransUnion’s culture, processes, and technology environment.
The internship program is coordinated by the Human Resources function and supported by Technology leaders and mentors. Interns will report administratively to the Program Coordinator and functionally to the assigned mentor within the respective technology team. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

The Technology Intern role exists to support innovation, process improvement, and technology initiatives while providing students with practical experience aligned with their academic requirements.

The intern will:

• Participate in the execution of an assigned technology project and contribute to project deliverables.
• Work closely with an assigned mentor to define objectives, milestones, and expected outcomes.
• Apply academic knowledge to solve business and technical challenges.
• Attend project follow-up meetings and provide regular updates on progress and achievements.
• Document project findings, recommendations, technical designs, and final outcomes.
• Conduct research and analysis related to technologies, tools, methodologies, or business requirements associated with the project.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders while maintaining professional communication standards.
• Follow established security, confidentiality, and compliance requirements.
• Complete the required practice hours established by the university while meeting project expectations.
• Deliver a final presentation and report summarizing project objectives, development process, results, and recommendations.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Must be completing a professional internship, graduation project, supervised practice, or academic requirement established by a recognized university.
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle, data analysis, automation, cloud technologies, or artificial intelligence concepts, depending on the assigned project.
• Academic experience completing individual or group technology-related projects and delivering documented results.
• Ability to analyze problems, identify potential solutions, and communicate findings effectively.

Required Technical Skills

• Basic knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) and relational database concepts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Understanding of software development concepts, data structures, or technology project methodologies.
• Basic experience using collaboration and productivity platforms such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
• Ability to learn and use TransUnion technology platforms and tools required for the assigned project.

• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or C#.
• Exposure to cloud technologies, DevOps practices, or automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI, or Prompt Engineering concepts.
• Experience using data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git and collaborative development practices.
• Strong presentation, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Interest in innovation, continuous improvement, and emerging technologies.

Reporting Structure

• Administrative Supervisor: Heidy Lemus, Human Resources Program Coordinator.
• Functional Supervisor: Assigned Technology Mentor.
• Department: Technology.
• Work Model: Hybrid (minimum two days per week on-site, based on project and mentor requirements).
• Duration: 400 hours or as required by the participating university.

Success Measures

At the completion of the internship, the participant will be expected to:

• Successfully complete assigned project milestones.
• Meet the required internship hours.
• Deliver all agreed project documentation and final deliverables.
• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and collaboration.
• Present project outcomes and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Receive satisfactory feedback from the assigned mentor and program coordinator.
