The Field Logistics function is a critical component of Smith+Nephew's overall US Supply Chain strategy. We are the last mile and the difference between success and failure in thousands of hospitals and surgery centers each day. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records of products as they flow through the territory, case coverage, inventory management, and analyzing data.
Field Logistics Specialist is an on-site member of the Logistics Team in a territory sales office(s). This role schedules, prepares, and ensures delivery of instruments and implant sets for surgery in the territory. This role is also responsible for coordinating surgery schedules, preparing, and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of instruments and implant sets for surgery.
What will you be doing?
Picking and packing of Finished Goods, maintaining inventory accuracy, sourcing cases, and communication to sales reps
Process all required order entry to maintain and manage scheduled surgery cases on a daily basis
Perform all required reporting to measure accuracy, utilization and validations while coordinating Mobile Logistics and shipment schedules
Good housekeeping in all warehouse areas; maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment
Required to perform on-call support as required
Must be flexible and help teammates when needed, including driving a company van when needed
Assist during physical inventories and/or field cycle counts
Perform daily/period freight activity reviews on all FedEx and courier usage
Must be willing to learn software systems such as Move Medical and SAP
Must be able to train and direct other personnel in their duties
What will you need to be successful?
High school Diploma or equivalency required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
Minimum 2 to 5 years' experience in a related field (Operations, Logistics, Business Analyst, Business Consultant)
Must be able to lift 75 lbs; standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling for long periods
Valid Driver's License with clean record
