Description
Job Title: Deputy Children's Manager
Location: Adbaston, Stafford, ST20
Salary: £41,036.49 – £41,651.39 per annum
Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 2:4 shift pattern with sleep-ins, including weekends
Employment Type: Full time
Sleep-ins: Required as part of the shift pattern
Service: Residential Children's Home
Service Users: Children and young people with complex needs
Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), with a willingness and ability to complete the Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification. Level 5 already held is desirable.
Experience Required: 2 years in residential childcare, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role in residential children's care
Your Role 🌟
Lead care practices in the home and deputise for the Registered Manager.
Oversee staff supervision, development and performance.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding protocols and regulatory requirements.
Work directly with children to promote positive relationships and outcomes.
Plan shifts, allocate resources and maintain smooth day-to-day operations.
Support the development and implementation of individual care and therapeutic plans.
Collaborate with external professionals to secure the best outcomes for young people.
Promote an inclusive, nurturing and stable home environment.
Who we are looking for
An excellent understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice and safeguarding, alongside sound knowledge of the regulations and legal frameworks governing residential care.
Proven team leadership, organisation and delegation skills, with strong written and verbal communication.
Resilience, adaptability and the ability to work under pressure, with flexibility to work shifts including weekends and sleep-ins.
Confident use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and a full UK driving licence.
A genuine commitment to ongoing professional development.
Experience of managing staff performance and leading team development is desirable.
