Description
Location: Salford, Greater Manchester
Salary: Approx. £33,700 per annum (based on 160 hours per month plus 11 sleep-ins)
Hourly Rate: £15.49 per hour
Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 24-hour shifts, starting and finishing at 10am (including an overnight sleep), followed by two days off. 10 or 11 shifts per month, 40 hours per week.
Employment Type: Permanent
Sleep-ins: One sleep-in per 24-hour shift, paid at £30 per sleep
Service: Children's Home
Service Users: Young people aged 8–18
Qualifications Required: Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare and/or relevant experience
Experience Required: Experience in residential childcare
The Role:
As Deputy Manager, you will support young people with their daily routines, including getting ready for school, preparing for mealtimes and planning activities. You will help create a warm, homely environment, build strong and meaningful relationships, and provide emotional support. You will plan and join in with activities such as park trips, film nights, creative projects and holidays, support young people with personal hygiene sessions, bedroom upkeep and health appointments, and keep essential records to ensure the best possible care. Above all, you will be a positive role model. 🌟
The Home:
A detached, well-decorated home with a large front and back garden and parks close by. The home is currently closed while our client recruits a full staff team before opening to referrals, giving you a unique opportunity to help shape the home from the very start. Existing team members are currently gaining experience in other homes before coming together as one team, so everyone will bring fresh learning with them.
Number of beds: 2 (dual home, with 2 staff on shift each day)
