The QC Lead supports shift-level Quality Control execution by coordinating inspection flow, supporting inspectors, escalating issues, reinforcing standards, and maintaining communication across QC stations and production areas.
This role is a working lead position responsible for helping maintain inspection accuracy, throughput, station coverage, pass-down quality, and real-time issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate daily inspection flow, station coverage, breaks, and shift priorities as directed by the QC Supervisor.
Support QC Inspectors with inspection criteria, routing questions, system use, defect identification, and escalation needs.
Reinforce adherence to approved documentation, inspection tools, IPC/customer criteria, and standard work.
Monitor inspection bottlenecks, quality risks, false calls, misses, and production flow concerns.
Escalate line-stopping issues, recurring defects, unclear criteria, equipment problems, or staffing concerns appropriately.
Assist with training, onboarding, and development of QC Inspectors.
Support containment, defect review, documentation, pass-down, and communication with QE, Manufacturing, and Engineering as needed.
Maintain a positive floor presence and model expected QC behavior, ownership, and urgency.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of Quality department objectives, customer requirements, production support, and QMS/EMS compliance.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of quality inspection or manufacturing experience preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency across multiple QC stations or inspection functions.
Strong understanding of inspection standards, routing, escalation, and production flow.
IPC-A-610 experience preferred.
Strong communication, ownership, peer leadership, and problem-solving skills.
