About the Role
We are seeking a Relationship Manager - Sub-Advised Insurance to join a team responsible for overseeing and strengthening a portfolio of strategic insurance client relationships. This individual will serve as one of the primary relationship contacts for assigned clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery, strong governance, and consistent execution across all aspects of the relationship lifecycle. The Relationship Manager is responsible for maintaining deep knowledge of client organizations, coordinating internal resources, and driving accountability for delivery against client commitments. The role provides continuity across client engagements while enabling Business Development professionals to focus on growth and expansion activities.
Success in this position requires strong relationship management capabilities, operational discipline, and the ability to navigate complex client needs while coordinating effectively across a broad range of internal stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Relationship Manager will:
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned insurance and sub-advisory clients.
- Maintain ongoing client engagement and lead day-to-day relationship management activities.
- Coordinate quarterly reviews, governance activities, reporting requirements, and client deliverables.
- Monitor service expectations and facilitate resolution of client issues.
- Partner with Investments, Product, Operations, Legal, and Compliance teams to support execution.
- Support retention efforts through proactive relationship management and client advocacy.
- Contribute to strategic account planning and identification of client needs.
- Maintain visibility into key client priorities, activities, and timelines.
- Provide continuity of coverage across strategic relationships.
- Support development of junior team members and relationship management processes.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Strategic Relationship Management: Ability to develop deep, trusted relationships across all levels of client organizations and serve as a consistent point of coordination and accountability. Demonstrates strong client instincts and the ability to anticipate needs, proactively address issues, and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
- Client Servicing and Operational Excellence: Exceptional ability to manage complex servicing requirements, governance obligations, reporting deliverables, and ongoing client commitments. Skilled at coordinating multiple workstreams simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
- Cross-Functional Coordination and Influence: Ability to effectively mobilize resources across Investments, Product, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and other business functions. Proven capability to translate client needs into actionable plans and drive accountability for execution across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Organizational Agility and Execution Management: Strong project management and prioritization skills, with the ability to oversee numerous client initiatives, deadlines, and servicing activities simultaneously. Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of execution.
- Client Retention and Partnership Development: Demonstrated ability to strengthen existing relationships and support long-term partnership growth through consistent service delivery and strategic engagement. Understands how relationship management contributes to retention, share of wallet, and overall business objectives.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of experience in relationship management, client service, sub-advisory, or institutional asset management.
- Experience managing sophisticated institutional or sub-advisory client relationships.
- Understanding of governance processes, reporting requirements, and client servicing activities.
- Ability to manage multiple complex relationships independently.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management capabilities.
- CFA, CAIA, or other relevant designation not required, but preferred.

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:
USD 120,000 - 225,000This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
