GFL Environmental is actively seeking a skilled Landfill Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dedicated team in Edmonton, AB!

Requirements:
Experience: Ability to run various pieces of equipment such as Excavators, Loaders, Skid Steers, Dozers, Balers, and Compactors.
Equipment Operation: Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy equipment loading trucks, maintaining site cleanliness and organization while continuously improving operational efficiency.
Safety Commitment: Ability to successfully satisfy all company standards for safety-sensitive operational roles.
Reliability: Strong attendance record and flexibility to support early morning start schedules and operational overtime when needed.
Responsibilities:
Safe Operation: Operate necessary equipment to pack and cover waste material at the active face. Consistently move material, load trucks and communicate with team members.
Safety Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections daily. Complete required paperwork. Clean trash from tracks of heavy equipment by pulling and or cutting material away from tracks and gear mechanisms at least once daily or more if needed. Grease/lubricate equipment, check and add fluids to equipment daily.
System Operations: Skillfully operate hydraulic and compaction systems using proper techniques to prevent equipment damage.
Reporting & Maintenance: Promptly report any mechanical write-ups, hazards, or safety incidents to management.
Service Quality: Maintain high productivity and equipment cleanliness.
Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with helpers, drivers and Supervisors to support smooth, efficient daily operations.
Additional Duties: Perform other operational duties as assigned by leadership.
