The Controls Design Engineer / BAS Controls Engineer / HVAC Controls Engineer Role:

• Design building automation and HVAC control solutions based on project requirements
• Develop and review controls schematics, wiring diagrams and related design documentation
• Create and interpret sequences of operation and control points
• Apply knowledge of mechanical and HVAC systems to produce practical controls designs
• Work with engineering teams to deliver accurate and effective controls solutions
• Support technical discussions and contribute to engineering processes
• Develop towards greater technical ownership and responsibility within the business

Controls Design Engineer / BAS Controls Engineer / HVAC Controls Engineer Requirements:

• Experience as a Controls Design Engineer, BAS Controls Engineer, HVAC Controls Engineer, Controls Engineer or similar building controls role
• Previous experience with BAS / HVAC controls systems is strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of mechanical and HVAC system operation
• Experience producing or interpreting electrical wiring diagrams, controls schematics and control documentation
• Knowledge of sequences of operation and control points
• Ability to understand how HVAC and mechanical systems operate beyond drafting requirements
• Strong electrical controls experience may be considered where supported by relevant mechanical systems knowledge

Desirable Experience:

• Experience with controls design software such as Visio or similar tools
• Mechanical Engineering background or related technical education
• Experience supporting junior engineers or working towards technical leadership responsibilities
