Analyst Intern - Health Care (HEOR, Epidemiology & Market Access) - Beijing (2027 Start Date)

This internship will take place in-person in our Beijing office. Throughout the program, you will be evaluated for a 2027 full-time position in the Beijing office.

Health care engagements with Analysis Group involve identifying and framing valuable research questions, collaborating with leading academic experts, designing and implementing rigorous data analyses, and disseminating research findings through conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications, as well as submissions to clinical regulators and health technology appraisal authorities in markets around the world.  Our research draws heavily on the growing variety of health care data, including real-world data, electronic health records, registries, clinical trials and insurance claims, as well as new data collection through medical record reviews, surveys and wearables.  We also draw on and contribute to the development of innovative methodologies and new standards in statistics, machine learning, health economic modeling and data collection technologies. Our work helps define markets, demonstrate value, and inform critical business decisions for innovative health care products.   

 Analysis Group's Beijing office focuses primarily on providing health care research and strategic consulting to our multinational pharmaceutical and life sciences clients as well as to domestic pharmaceutical companies in China. Led by Managing Principal Eric Q. Wu, the office collaborates closely with leading Chinese academic researchers including affiliates from Peking University, Tsinghua University and other research institutes, identifies and develops high-quality data with local partners, and designs and presents research studies that meet the needs of decision makers from industry, government, and the scientific community.  

  

About the Analyst Intern Position:  

This is a position for first year masters/MPH students with research experience in biostatistics, economics, epidemiology, health economics, health policy, mathematics, public health, statistics, or related subjects. Analyst Interns will gain experience with conducting quantitative and qualitative research, performing data-driven analyses, developing economic models, and preparing project deliverables.  Additionally, Analyst Interns will learn how to translate the findings from research into implications or recommendations for regulatory and business decisions.  

  

Essential Hiring Conditions, Duties and Responsibilities:  

Summer analysts can expect to work on multiple projects at a time. Responsibilities and work experiences across consulting engagements vary widely by project. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to carrying out the following to the satisfaction of the company and the supervisor: 

• Perform independent and directed economic and statistical analyses, using spreadsheets and statistical programming in SAS, R, Stata, and other programs 

• Examine diseases of interest through targeted research 

• Review and summarize reports and client documents 

• Assist in the preparation of expert reports and other client deliverables 

• Create visual or graphic presentation of findings from quantitative and qualitative analysis 

• Prepare reports and presentation materials 

• Prepare well documented and cross-referenced work papers providing the support and bases for analyses and opinions 

• Provide reliable quality control 

Analysis Group has the right to assign or reassign additional duties and responsibilities to this position to fulfill Analysis Group's objective from time to time.  

Basic Hiring Conditions and Requirements:  Analysis Group fosters a progressive and academically oriented work environment, with an emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth across diverse areas of expertise. Specifically, we seek candidates who have:  

• An in-progress master's degree in biostatistics, economics, epidemiology, health economics, health policy, mathematics, public health, statistics, or related subjects.  

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including demonstrated interest or experience in statistical programming, data analysis, and the application of rigorous methods to real-world research problems in the biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or health policy sectors, as well as familiarity with AI tools.

• Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (e.g., SAS, Stata, R) is a plus 

• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills 

• A commitment to teamwork and collaborative problem solving 

• Excellent attention to detail 

• A desire to continuously learn and develop professionally 

• Fluent in English and Mandarin 
• Candidates must be eligible to work in China without employer sponsorship and must hold the appropriate work authorization documents issued by the Government of China Mainland / Hong Kong / Macao / Taiwan. 

Applicants are required to have at least a 3.3 GPA or higher in their most recent degree to be considered.
