Field Applications Engineer

About the Role

• We are looking for a technically strong and customer-focused Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will act as a key technical interface between customers, sales, and internal engineering teams, supporting customers throughout the complete product development lifecycle—from initial requirements gathering and solution definition through development, validation, and delivery.
• The role requires a strong combination of embedded hardware and software knowledge, customer-facing skills, problem-solving ability, and business awareness. The successful candidate will work closely with customers to understand their technical challenges, recommend suitable solutions, and help drive successful adoption of our products and technologies in the Indian market.

Key Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of customer-driven projects, supporting the complete development lifecycle from requirements gathering and solution definition through development, validation, and delivery.
• Act as the primary technical interface between customers, sales teams, and internal engineering/development teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Work closely with customers in India to provide hardware and software design support, technical guidance, and application-level assistance based on their specific requirements.
• Understand customer applications and system requirements and recommend appropriate products, technologies, and system architectures.
• Support customers during product evaluation, prototyping, development, testing, and production deployment.
• Provide technical presentations, product demonstrations, training, and workshops to customers and their engineering teams as required.
• Work closely with the sales team to provide technical support during customer engagements, opportunity development, product evaluations, and project acquisition.
• Collaborate with customer engineering teams to identify technical challenges, troubleshoot issues, and develop effective solutions.
• Proactively identify project risks, including unclear or incomplete requirements, technical dependencies, and potential development challenges, and work with stakeholders to mitigate them.
• Analyse technical problems and develop conceptual solutions, including high-level system architectures, that effectively address customer requirements.
• Use internal change management, support, and issue-tracking systems to manage customer requests, document technical issues, and ensure timely resolution.
• Contribute technical content, application notes, troubleshooting information, and other relevant material to the developer community and knowledge-sharing platforms.
• Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, technical events, workshops, and customer seminars alongside the sales team to promote products and services.
• Engage directly with potential customers at industry events to understand their requirements, identify opportunities, and support business growth in the Indian market.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, project records, customer requirements, and support activities.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Technical Skills & Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in Field Applications Engineering, Embedded Systems, Technical Support, Embedded Product Development, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems and electronics, with the ability to read and interpret hardware schematics, datasheets, and technical specifications.
  Practical experience with hardware and software design and development.
• Experience working within a cross-functional product development or engineering team and a good understanding of hardware and software development lifecycles.
• Experience with high-end SoC (System-on-Chip) technologies and embedded computing platforms.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows Embedded/Windows CE operating systems.
• Ability to understand different technologies, evaluate their suitability for specific applications, and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Exposure to embedded processors, computer-on-modules, single-board computers, carrier boards, peripherals, interfaces, and related embedded technologies will be an advantage.
• Experience in customer technical support, solution consulting, or pre-sales engineering is preferred.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with sales, engineering, product management, and customer support teams.
• Willingness to travel within India for customer meetings, technical engagements, trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events.
• Self-motivated, proactive, customer-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced technology environment.
