Riverside Research is seeking a motivated and innovative Entry-Level Software Engineer to join our Sensor and Systems Business Unit in Fairfax, Virginia. This part-time role is open to individuals who are currently pursuing a degree or have equivalent experience in software engineering or a related field. The primary focus of this role will be on developing AI agents, conducting research on large language models (LLMs), and creating rapid prototypes to support our cutting-edge projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and refine AI agents, contributing to various stages of the development lifecycle.
- Conduct research on large language models (LLMs) to explore new techniques and methodologies for enhancing AI capabilities.
- Participate in the design and development of rapid prototypes, turning innovative ideas into functional software solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, following best practices in software development.
- Assist in debugging and troubleshooting software issues, providing support for testing and quality assurance processes.
- Contribute to team discussions, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to the table, and actively participating in brainstorming sessions.
- Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and industry trends, applying this knowledge to ongoing project
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and large language models.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Ability to work independently, managing time effectively to meet project deadlines.
